GARCIA FAURA works in a new coworking office building in Barcelona
The project is being developed in the 22@ district of the Catalan capital, in the Poblenou neighbourhood, and is a commitment to sustainability and comfort, with sustainability criteria in its construction.
The Poblenou neighbourhood, in Barcelona’s 22@ district, will be home to a new shared workspace that is committed to sustainability and comfort. The project, designed by the Batlleiroig architecture studio, blends harmoniously into the industrial environment of the neighbourhood, respecting the height of the neighbouring buildings and enhancing the island’s interior green areas.
With a surface area of 3,561 square metres, the building is divided into two structures: a three-storey block facing Llacuna street and another two-storey block facing Bori street. The ground floor occupies the entire plot and the complex has an underground level for parking.
The façade stands out for its innovation and respect for the industrial past of the area. It is composed of ceramic columns made of compacted earth blocks, a sustainable material that reduces carbon dioxide emissions during its manufacture. This structure is combined with prefabricated concrete elements that regulate the natural light inside and facilitate cross ventilation, which improves the comfort of the workspaces.
All this is complemented by the set of aluminium joinery developed, manufactured and installed by GARCIA FAURA. A hundred units in addition to the rest of the work carried out for this project, including three interior skylights, fixed closures and access doors.
One of the highlights of the project will be precisely the prominence of natural light and the connection between interior spaces and outdoor areas, promoting a healthier and more pleasant work experience.
For this project, GARCIA FAURA will manufacture and install 102 units of aluminium joinery, seven units of aluminium doors (two of them metallic), three skylights, 95.16 square metres of exterior cladding and 16.19 square metres of interior cladding. There will also be 244.77 square metres of floor panels and 224.02 square metres of panels on the pillars.
