The Pòdium – Joan Masgrau in Viladecans comprises 3 large zones: a multi-sports pavilion, instructed activity rooms and swimming suite, with an indoor pool and another outdoor pool. It is integrated into the Torre Roja park housing complex and is open to private individuals, plus the various clubs and organisations of the city for practising sports. In fact, one of the premises of the project was the maximum versatility of the different spaces, as well as the energy use strategy. The Brullet – De Luna design project conceived a design that allows the maximum use of natural light through skylights, thermal control favoured by the provision of intermediate spaces and the control of solar radiation by means of brise-soleil structures.
GARCIA FAURA was tasked with contributing to the leveraging of energy by manufacturing and installing our products. In this way we have proceeded with the installation of large, fixed walled modules as well as 2 large curtain walls for the pool area, which allow maximum natural light to enter the interior, while creating a visual continuum between environments. Works have also resulted in the incorporation of more than 2,000 m2 of aluminium profile enclosures with thermal break, which further develops the sensation of interior comfort for the user, so as to increase thermal insulation between interior and exterior.
