INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES

As a result of the entry into force of the reference modification to the “Companies Service Information and E-commerce Act of Spain” (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the express consent of the user of all web pages using dispensable cookies, before they navigate through them.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the correct functionality of the site. By using these devices, the web server is able to remember some information pertaining to the user, such as their preferences for viewing the pages on said server, their username and password, products that interest them most, etc.

COOKIES COVERED BY THE STANDARD AND EXEMPT COOKIES

According to the EU Directive, those cookies requiring informed consent by the user are analytical cookies and advertising and affiliation cookies, with the exception of those of a technical nature and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user.

WHAT TYPE OF COOKIES ARE THERE?

Depending on the cookie type, there are five main groups:

  • Analytical cookies: these gather information pertaining to the use being made of the website.
  • Social cookies: are those required by external social networks.
  • Affiliate cookies: these are used to monitor visits from other websites, with which the website establishes an affiliation contract (affiliation companies).
  • Advertising and behavioural cookies: these gather information about the personal preferences and choices of the user (retargeting).
  • Technical and functional cookies: these are strictly required for using the website and for the contracted service provision.
COOKIES USED IN OUR WEBSPACE

PHPSESSID: strictly necessary technical cookie which contains the session ID. This is deleted when the browser is closed.

_lang: strictly necessary technical cookie which contains the session language. This is deleted when the browser is closed.

ac_cookies: strictly necessary technical cookie which contains the YES value if cookie installation has been accepted. Expires 1 year after the last update.

_ga: Google Analytics Universal cookie which enables the monitoring of unique visits. This cookie will be installed the first time a user enters the website through a browser. When the same user accesses the Internet again via the same browser, the cookie will consider that it is the same user. They shall only be considered to be another user if they change browser. Expires 2 years after the last update.

_gat: This cookie is linked to Google Analytics Universal. It is used to limit the server request speed – limiting the collection of data on high-traffic sites. Expires every 10 minutes.

_utma: Google Analytics cookie which logs the date of the user’s first and last visit to the website. Expires 2 years after the last update.

_utmb: Google Analytics cookie which logs the time the web page is accessed. Expires 30 minutes after the last update.

_utmc: Google Analytics cookie used for interoperability with the urchin.js tracking code. This is deleted when the browser is closed.

_utmt: Google Analytics cookie used for processing the user search request type. Expires at the end of the session.

_utmv: Google Analytics cookie used for segmenting demographic data. Expires at the end of the session.

_utmz: Google Analytics cookie which stores the campaign or traffic source to explain how the user arrived at the website. Expires 6 months after the last update.

HOW TO CLEAR BROWSER COOKIES

Chrome

  1. Select the Tools icon
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Show Advanced Options.
  4. In the “Privacy” tab, click on Configure Content.
    • To delete cookies: Click on All cookies and site data…
    • Do not allow cookies to be stored.
  5. Click on Clear browser data (empty Cache).
  6. Close and restart the browser.

Internet Explorer. Version 11

  1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
  2. Click on the General tab.
  3. In the “Browser History” section, click on Delete browsing history when exiting.
  4. Select Delete files.
  5. Select Delete cookies.
  6. Click on Delete.
  7. Click on OK.
  8. Close and restart the browser.

Firefox. Version 18

  1. Select Firefox | History | Clear recent history.
  2. Next to “Details”, click on the drop-down arrow.
  3. Select the following checkboxes: Cookies, Cache, Active session starts
  4. Using the “Time range to clear” in the drop-down menu, select Everything.
  5. Click on Clear Now.
  6. Close and restart the browser.

Safari Version 5.1

  1. Select the Safari icon | Edit | Reset Safari.
  2. Select the following checkboxes: Clear History, Remove all website data
  3. Click on Remove Now.
  4. Close and restart the browser.
