New hotel with a cosmopolitan design and urban concept, located in the centre of Barcelona, in what used to be the textile company Marxan’s former head office. The building was subject to a comprehensive renovation to adapt it to its new use. The existing modern structure of the building, covering more than 3,000 m2 and having a renovated facade, has been intrinsic to the new hotel’s aspect. It has 60 rooms plus a restaurant facility, and has become the first hotel installation from the Smart Room chain with such facilities in the centre of Barcelona.
GARCIA FAURA undertook aluminium, glazing and steel works to convert the building from its previous form into the hotel and to imbue it with the cutting-edge image that the brand wishes to project to its clientele. We installed the enclosures in the construction as well as a curtain wall zone which lets in a significant amount of natural light and connects the building’s interior and exterior.
