GARCIA FAURA manufactures and installs the façades of the new Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona
The Joan XXIII University Hospital in Tarragona has embarked on a project to renovate and integrate the various buildings that make up the leading healthcare facility in Camp de Tarragona, built in the late 1960s.
The project involves the construction of a new 40,000-square-metre central building that will house the services currently spread across three different buildings; an administrative building and another teaching building will also be constructed.
For this project, GARCIA FAURA will manufacture and install more than 1,500 square metres of façade panels and 550 square metres of high-performance aluminium joinery, in addition to 600 square metres of aluminium frames with slats.
The company will also manufacture and install approximately 10,500 square metres of smooth, corrugated and perforated aluminium cladding, as well as approximately 1,500 square metres of curtain walls, BSOs and walkways on the façades.
The Catalan company has provided the project with a wide range of professionals, from engineers and architects to first-rate officers assigned to manufacturing and installation tasks, as well as a monitoring and quality control team.
Integrated into the environment with minimal environmental impact
Once completed, the new Joan XXIII Hospital will have a surface area of 78,000 square metres, will be integrated into the urban environment and will have a functional design that will allow for maximum resolution and operational capacity.
Furthermore, efforts are being made to reduce the environmental impact as much as possible and to ensure the sustainability and energy efficiency of the infrastructure.
