Comprehensive refurbishment of the Estel building in Barcelona. GARCIA FAURA has carried out the construction and installation of 6,100 square metres of curtain wall with SG system and a double skin with special extruded aluminium slats, an additional 3,272 square metres of curtain wall with covers, and a 170 square metre skylight in the interior courtyard.
The main façade has been one of the most outstanding interventions, with a curtain wall in the form of scales that reproduces the volumetry of the building. This exclusive exterior skin, developed by GARCIA FAURA’s Technical Office, uses large vertical profiles and horizontal slats designed specifically for the project.
The anchorages and supporting structures, made of iron, ensure the necessary strength, while maintaining a clean and simple aesthetic. In addition, the lower part of the façade incorporates a curved design which, despite its technical complexity, brings a unique personality to the architectural ensemble.
