{"id":39001,"date":"2025-04-10T13:19:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T11:19:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.garciafaura.com\/garcia-faura-participa-en-ledificacio-de-la-nova-terminal-de-creuers-del-port-de-barcelona\/"},"modified":"2025-04-10T13:34:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T11:34:09","slug":"garcia-faura-participa-en-ledificacio-de-la-nova-terminal-de-creuers-del-port-de-barcelona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.garciafaura.com\/en\/garcia-faura-participa-en-ledificacio-de-la-nova-terminal-de-creuers-del-port-de-barcelona\/","title":{"rendered":"GARCIA FAURA involved in the construction of the new cruise terminal in the Port of Barcelona"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">For the new infrastructure at <em>Moll Adossat<\/em>, the company will develop and install almost 4,000 square metres of curtain walling and almost 3,000 square metres of double skin with metal mesh, among other works.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\"><strong>GARCIA FAURA<\/strong> is participating in the construction of the new <strong>cruise terminal G<\/strong> being built at <em>Moll Adossat<\/em> in the <strong>Port of Barcelona<\/strong>, which is due to be operational around spring 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">The new terminal will result in the closure of the World Trade Center South Terminal in 2026, so the <em>Moll Adossat<\/em> will house all seven of the city&#8217;s cruise terminals, a fact agreed between the City Council and the <strong>Port of Barcelona<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\"><strong>Terminal G<\/strong> has been designed for <strong>efficient and sustainable passenger mobility<\/strong>, so that it can connect seamlessly with the city or with other transport systems such as the train or the airport.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">The new infrastructure has also been designed with <strong>renewable energy solutions<\/strong> in mind, with photovoltaic panels and other installations (such as systems enabling cruise ships to connect to the electricity grid) to achieve a zero emissions balance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Work by GARCIA FAURA<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">For this project, <strong>GARCIA FAURA<\/strong> will manufacture and install 3,800 square metres of <strong>curtain wall<\/strong> with large uprights to support the heights of the project (over seven metres between anchors), forming a design with opaque areas with <strong>aluminium<\/strong> panels and viewing areas with glass.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">2,700 square metres of <strong>double skin with aluminium<\/strong> metal mesh will also be installed on an <strong>aluminium<\/strong> framework, which will be fixed to the main <strong>curtain wall fa\u00e7ade<\/strong> at a 45 degree angle to the plane of the <strong>fa\u00e7ade<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">All this in a unique and singular building, for which <strong>GARCIA FAURA<\/strong> is carrying out important technical development work, in collaboration with the construction company <strong>Dragados<\/strong> and <strong>JG<\/strong> engineering, for <strong>Royal Caribbean<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Finally, the 1,300 square metres of <strong>mesh cladding<\/strong>, in this case fixed to the load-bearing iron structure to conceal the boarding areas, and the 200 square metres of glazed railings are also worthy of note.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the new infrastructure at Moll Adossat, the company will develop and install almost 4,000 square metres of curtain walling and almost 3,000 square metres of double skin with metal mesh, among other works.
